I view this opportunity to change the landscape of and influence posite and impactful improvements in corrections and juvenile service in our great state of Maryland for years to come. I am determined and dedicated to achieving the legislative directives that are mandated in the legislation and will guide the agency daily ensuring independence, impartiality, transparency, objectivity, and fairness.

Meet the board
The OCO Advisory Board shall consist of 12 members. The Advisory Board is instrumental in ensuring the progress of the OCO. The board consists of key stakeholders to include family members of incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, nonsupervisory correctional staff, members of the public with an interest in corrections, individuals with backgrounds in healthcare and social work, individuals with background in mental health care and substance use disorder treatment, and individuals with experience managing large government agencies. It is important to note that no member of the board may be currently employed by the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services or the Department of Juvenile Services in a supervisory capacity.
The board is established under Article - State Government §9–4007.
